cyclops bear and kitty

these were going to be similar to the sarcastical bear...i think i really should work on making a pattern instead of winging it.

the green one is the bear in case you were wondering. the pink one was supposed to be a bear as well, but is now a kitty.

i don't know why they only got one eye. probably b/c i really didn't figure in my seam allowances very well. especially around the neck.

only in idaho...

does it go from highs in the 80s to highs in the 30s in the space of a week. plus snow.

my daisy bush covered.

my tomatoes covered. sigh.

my still alive anenome covered.

not that i am complaining, i love snow, especially when there are big flakes like there were today. i just would have liked my green tomatoes to turn red before snowfall. oh well.

flower shirt

another flower shirt. made this one for cousin Lindsey. sadly only took a picture when it was dark. again used yard sale find of quilt flowers and appliqued it to the t-shirt. i like what the lady who made the flowers did-- she sewed them to iron on interfacing and cut a hole in the interfacing to turn them inside out. so i was able to iron them on to applique them. very nice.

and mallory sporting her shirt (complete with pop stains) i made at a birthday party for isaac. yep he's one now. way too fast. that's cousin jehu on the left.

two interesting articles

hmmm....just realized that the last post was number 200. might just have to have a giveaway to celebrate.

anyway, i was reading microbiology bytes the other day and thought you other moms would be interested in this.

here is an article about breast fed babies' intestinal bacteria vs. bottle fed intestinal bacteria. very fascinating.

and an article about Staphylococcus and SIDS deaths (cot deaths).
also very interesting. sometime i will go into depth about why i felt comfortable putting isaac on his stomach to sleep when he was a wee baby. but basically i read into the studies that were done on SIDS deaths and drew my own conclusions.
