this is a gram stain of one of my kids mouth. my husband took the picture holding the digital camera up to the lens of the microscope. but hey, at least i have access to a microscope. though indirectly.
in case you are wondering what you are looking at, the big round things are epithelial cells and the little dark purplely things are gram postive cocci. probably Streptococcus. perfectly normal, any worrying grandmas who might be reading this blog.
